COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course introduces frequency and phase synchronization requirements related to 3G/4G/5G services, using of SyncE and IEEE 1588V2 over a Packet Transport Network to satisfy the requirements. It describes synchronization aspects in transport and backhaul optical network to plan the most efficient synchronization strategy, involving the local GPS. Topics covered include planning and design, protocols working mechanisms, real implementation scenario and use cases, testing and measuring the quality of the synchronization, how 1588V2 works over OTN/WDM devices.
